Critically Ill

"What would you do?", "Would you want someone to suffer?", "You just do not understand!", "They have their rights!"

I have been asked all of these questions and maybe you have guessed what subject they are related to. Euthanasia or more well known as physician assistant suicide.

Going through high school this subject has been brought to my attention and I have done presentations on this; and I am always asked these questions: "Should not people have control over their own life?" Yes! They should. Now are you asking: "What, you believe in physician assistant suicide? No, I do not but when people assist someone in their death or when you wish you could die do you ever think of this verse?

And as it is appointed unto men once

to die, but after this the judgement.

Hebrews 9:27

Maybe you have let a little grunt out and said: "What foolishness, when I die I die as a dog." Or maybe you say: "God loves everyone he would not send anyone to hell, he understands." Think my friend. Read the verse slowly after you read it, read it again. Maybe you do not believe it but what if it is true, then what?

Please do not lay this tract down. I am not trying to get you to join any sort of religion or any beliefs. I am trying to tell you what counts and what happens after you die.

Perhaps you have heard about the man in Mark chapter 2 who was paralyzed and he had to be carried around to get places. When he heard the Lord Jesus Christ was near, what did he do? He never gave up; he had faith in the Lord:

And when they could not come nigh

unto him for the press, they uncovered

the roof where he was: and when they

had broken it up, they let down the bed

wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the

sick of the palsy, Son, they sins be forgiven thee.

Mark 2:4,5

What about you, are you ready to die, Are you saved? Do you have a moment in your life when you realized you were a sinner on the way to hell and you deserved to be there but then you realized with complete and true sincerity that He (Jesus) died for you? That when the Lord died on the cross he died for your sins? If you do not have this moment in your life friend, then I kindly say this for love of your soul; you are heading to hell, but there is no need.

For whosoever shall call upon

the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:13

Have you and if you have did you mean it? Are you truly saved?

I had a relative with brain cancer that rapidly spread through his body and his life slowly and painfully slipped away. But one day a friend asked him how he felt and his reply was: "Good," and the friend said. "Nathan don’t you think it is time you changed that word?" His reply was a reply of a sinner who had put their trust in the Lord. "Why, I am saved and on the way to heaven so why not say that I am good? A few days before Christmas in 1999 this young man of 24 accepted Christ as his personal Saviour when he realized what Christ did at the place called calvary was for him. A few weeks earlier he was diagnosed with serious cancer of the brain. He is gone home to heaven now. He slowly faded from a very strong healthy man to almost nothing. He couldn’t walk he couldn’t move but he always was thinking of his Saviour and the morning he died he died without a word and entered the presence of his Saviour to be with Him for all eternity.

If someone has the opportunity to ask you how you are when you are near death what will your answer be? I am saved, I hope I am saved or I am lost? Or perhaps you will die instantly not having time to think over your answer to a question like that. What an awful tragedy to enter eternity with out a Saviour.

For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten

Son, that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Come to him now, accept that you are a lost sinner, but Jesus died for you. That whatever happens in this life, it will not matter. For your Saviour will be waiting for you in heaven. Oh this is such a wonderful gift being provided. Please do not miss out on it.

...him that cometh to me I will in no

wise cast out.

John 6:37

The many sorrows that he bore,

And oh, the crown of thorns He bore,

That I might live for evermore,

Is more then tongue can tell.

He took the guilty sinner’s place

And suffered in his stead;

For man (O miracle of grace!)

For man, the Saviour bled.
