The Kingdom

Have you ever thought of how far away heaven is? I remember one day my family was hauling out firewood for the winter. I was holding my little sister on top of the pile of wood as the tractor was leaving the woods. She was starring up at the blue sky, dotted with clouds. She looked at me and said, "How many miles away is the sky?"

I answered her and said, "The sky is a long ways away, then above that is the stars and planets and above them is heaven." Isn’t it amazing?

"He... hangeth the earth upon nothing."

Job 26:7

Think about this; above the stars there is a great kingdom where God is. Angels are there worshiping God and singing praises. Heaven is beautiful and it will last forever.

...for he is the living God, and stedfast

for ever, and his kingdom that which

shall not be destroyed, and his

dominion shall be even unto the end.

Daniel 6:26

Have you ever saw pictures with beautiful scenes of nature or saw a place that was breath taking? Did you know that this world is full of sin but heaven is not? So if we think earth is beautiful, imagine how beautiful heaven is. Wouldn’t you love to be in the kingdom of God? Everyone would love to have no pain or sorrow or troubles. But we have one problem God tells us:

For all have sinned, and come

short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

We have sinned and can not get into God’s kingdom, the only place where there is peace. We have sinned against the Lord. Have you ever used the name of the Lord in vain, stolen, lied , or did anything that was wrong? Why should God even care for us, we turned against him?

When I consider the heavens, the

work of thy fingers, the moon

and the stars, which thou

hast ordained: what is man, that

thou art mindful of him?

And the son of man, that thou

visitest him?

Psalm 8:3,4

We do not deserve God’s heaven but we deserve hell and if you do not get saved from your sins that is where, I say it kindly, you will go. But in God’s kingdom he had a Son who was sent to die for our sins: "...Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;..." (1 Timothy 1:15). Is that not great? The Lord came into the world to die for our sins and he rose on the third day from the dead. Do you know what the Lord said in John 14:2? Here are His words:

"In my Father’s house are many

mansions: if it were not so, I

would have told you. I go to

prepare a place for you."

The Lord died for you and has gone to prepare a place for you but will you accept it? Have you realized you deserve to be in hell, you are a guilty sinner who does not deserve to be in heaven, God’s kingdom? Do not wait until it is to late; be saved today and be made ready for heaven.

But seek ye first the kingdom of

God, and his righteousness; and all

these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6:33
