The Sinner's Prayer

 

 

    
           

 		  

I am sorry but this option is not available due to the study of scripture I found no scriptural backing for the sinner's prayer. All I could find was where God the Holy Spirit is the only one who can convict sinners of their need. By adding a sinner's prayer we are not putting our trust in God that He is able to do His own work, and it may lead to false professions where people believe quoting a prayer will get them to heaven.     And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:15
  . In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

    For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
2 Corinthians 7:10
(This is telling us it takes the working of God to deal with souls. A Godly sorrow. This does not mean sorrow like God's for He has no sorrow but admiting your fault before God the punishment you deserve and the punishment you're getting if you do not get saved.)
  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. .
