Why Did God Create Us?

Christians can all agree that God created the heavens and the earth, but why?

“For the praise of man” you reply.

“But why did He need our praise? He is God!”

Some may say: “oh He, if there is a God, He just made us to laugh at and forget about. To use as He sees fit.

Now wait a minute God's not a man, what do you expect He did it for?

Think of it like this:

God, the one true God, The ruler of all other beings of the supernatural; who knows and sees all is constantly worshipped by the angels that He has created.

The role of the angels are to do the bidding of the Almighty God

Lu 1:19  And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Isa 6:3  And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

In the vastness of eternity, before creation of the world, God decided to create the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1

But why would He ever want to create something, that surely He knew would turn against Him?

Well there was one large difference between the man He was going to create and the angels:

Ge 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

A living soul? Man had a soul that allowed him to have emotions, feelings, a will of His own.

God wanted a creation that would love him, and worship Him out of love, for his greatness and love.

But there is something else He wanted His creation even today to remember:

Nahum 1: 5  The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

The Creator of all things has the power over what He has created. The mountains themselves quake at him. In His presence the earth will burn.

His words to man sound as thunder

Job 37:5  God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

So with greatness like this, why again would He want to create us?

Ps. 95: 7 ¶  For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

God created a race that He could love and would freely love Him back

But why should we love God?

 Here’s some reasons why:

The blue words are reasons we have to love Him right from creation. The red ones are reasons we should love Him because of something He did for us that we never deserved.

Ps. 95:1 ¶  O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

3  For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

4  In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

5  The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

6  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Ps. 86: 12  I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

13     For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

God had planned a fellowship between Him and man that would have been great for both. A creation that loved Him for His greatness and kindness in providing all that they needed. The fellowship in the garden between man and the Almighty God seemed to be a perfect bliss, with the creator visiting His creation.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:…

Everything was going as planned until that day in the garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve disobeyed their Creator.

Ro 5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Now what? Well I guess like anything we make and it fails, God should scrape it right? His creation with the free will that had been put inside of them had disobeyed Him. Now what?

Gen. 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

What? Why did God do this?

Ps 111:4  He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

God is not like so many of us. He is not a quitter. He created a wonderful work and it was to be remembered. He loved His creation for reasons we do not know, and so the first animal died to provide a covering for Adam and Eve.

 From there it went downhill.

 Ro 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

What will God do now? He can not have fellowship with a sinful creation, that is against the nature of the Holy God, how would anyone ever get into the presence of a Holy and Just God (will be touched on in a future article Lord willing)? What would He do to save us from a place we deserved to be?

Well why should He do anything? We deserved to be in hell, but God loves us,

 So He sent His Son

1Jo 4:14  And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

By the grace of God we have been saved from our sins, so does that mean we can take light our faith? The world around us is constantly attacking our Saviour. Yet let us be like the writer:

Ps.100:3  Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Our Saviour is the Creator, He created us to have ones that would freely love Him and He would love back. We sinned against Him so He died for us at Calvary. He did not decide to forget about us, no. He gave us an even greater reason to love Him. He took our place, He paid our penalty at Calvary!

Colossians 1: 16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist….20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself…

So why did God create us? ….. To show his greatness and kindness. To reveal his everlasting love.

So as I mentioned earlier “God’s not Man! What do you expect.........something man would think? ..............Something less then the best?

Re 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
