Is Anyone Praying?
That little old lady who lives down the street: No children, no friends of her own. So Shabby, so ragged So little to eat. Neglected, dejected, alone! IS ANYONE PRAYING FOR HER?
That lovely young couple Just recently wed: Now thinking divorce: what a shame! The Lord could rekindle That love still not dead: If only they knew His sweet Name! IS ANYONE PRAYING FOR THEM ?
Those kids on the corner With nothing to do, And no one at home really cares! They cry for compassion: If only we knew Their heartaches and pains and despairs! IS ANYONE PRAYING FOR THEM?
There’s crime that keeps mounting Like snow in the night, And murder and rapings and dope. There’s sickness and sadness And sorrow: such plight! Poor people without any hope! IS ANYONE PRAYING FOR THEM?
We, too, are encumbered With cares of the day. We struggle and strive to do right. We too, though we’re Christians, Have woes by the way, And fears midst the darkness of night. IS ANYONE PRAYING FOR US?-- |
