Let's Get Serious
A small group of Catholic bishops from England, Wales and Scotland have been on a mission to tell people that the bible is not completely accurate.
When I look at something like that I think “man if I was a sceptic that’s just the evidence I need, a large “Christian” group degrading their own book.
But come on seriously, what’s going on here? Read through this entire article, don’t get offended or upset, just slowly read it and think just for a moment about it.

The Bible speaks about atleast 3 different kinds of people who could care less about what the Bible says about them and other things:
They are:
The Ignorant (unwilling to listen)
Romans 1: 18 For there is a revelation of the wrath of God from heaven against all the wrongdoing and evil thoughts of men who keep down what is true by wrongdoing; 19 ¶ Because the knowledge of God may be seen in them, God having made it clear to them. 20 For from the first making of the world, those things of God which the eye is unable to see, that is, his eternal power and existence, are fully made clear, he having given the knowledge of them through the things which he has made, so that men have no reason for wrongdoing: (BBE Version)
The Proud John 5: 39 "You keep on searching the Scriptures, for you yourselves suppose that you will get possession of eternal life through them; and yet they are witnesses that testify to me, 40 but you refuse to come to me to get possession of life. (Williams Version)
Moral Issues John 3: 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (KJV)
Do you fall into one of these categories? If you have not trusted Christ as your Saviour, there’s a very good chance you have.
Ignorant – You know the truth, you have heard it many, many times and know there’s truth to it, but you just won’t listen
Proud – You have your own way, you’re reading the bible and find things in it that’s good enough, or have some other way, not realizing that it’s through Christ one gets eternal salvation
Moral Issues – Perhaps you think if you get this saved that everyone speaks about, then you’ll miss out on things, you miss out on nothing, but gain much more.
CHAPTER 2
CREATION
Exodus 20: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
It is very obvious that God meant six literal 24 hour periods. Of course we could go into the Hebrew language and debate on it, but instead let us just use a bit of logic. In Exodus 31, God tells the Israelities to work six days and then on the seventh (Sabbath) to rest, that is not disputed is it? But in the same chapter He explains how creation was as a model for this, 6 days of work, 1 day of rest. Ex. 31:15-17
Do the Jews go today or at anytime, "those six days God spoke about, that did not mean 24 hours so therefore we need to work and work cause that day could be a thousand years." Or perhaps to their benefit they could say their generation is now on the 7th day period, therefore they’re done working for the next thousand or so years.
Stupid eh? It just doesn’t make sense, well read Exodus 31, that’s what God is trying to tell us. Six literal days.
Now you may say “science disproves all that” does it though? Study is closely, it doesn’t. It’s a mere theory.
Let’s use this illustration. Imaging you are hanging off a cliff, all that is holding you is a giant chain. You know that chain is a good chain and nothing will happen to it. But suddenly you hear SNAP!. A link in the chain has broken!.
What’s going to happen to you? Yup down you go, there’s nothing holding you now. That’s like the theory of evolution. The chain has lost many links, there’s no foundation to it.
Are you going to Believe the Bible?
A man named Carl Sagan could say: “The secrets of evolution are time and death, time for the slow accumulations of favourable mutations, and death to make room for new species.”
Now take what God says: Ro 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Do you see a problem? The Bible says that death did not come into the world until there was sin. Adam sinned, then things began to die. There is no way evolution and the Bible can be mixed.
What are you going to believe?
A preacher named Robert Mcilwaine could ask a girl one day “If you can’t believe God where you’ve come from you’ll never believe where you’re going!”
CHAPTER 3 CONTRADICTIONS/PROPHECY
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Recognize that verse? Many people are somewhat familiar with that verse, have you ever stopped to realize that “Hey that verse was written around 712 years before Christ was born!” The virgin birth in Isaiah 7 was written about even before that, ........coincidence?
There are around atleast 48 prophecies in the Old Testament that relate to the Messiah. Did you know that it would take 1 chance in 13 trillion to match every one of those prophecies?
It was done though! By the Lord Jesus Christ
“There are piles of contradictions” You can say, is there really? When studied closely are they truly contradictions?
Dr. Archer a man who had learned 30 languages and studied biblical languages closely could say: “There is a good and sufficient answer in scripture itself to refute every charge that has ever been leveled against it” Let’s listen to someone who knows what he’s talking about.
Archaeologically wise though, what about that? There’s been things not discovered yet, so therefore the Bible can’t be trusted…..really? what about all the things that have been discovered that backs the Bible up perfectly?
Nelson Glueck a Jewish archaeologist could say: “It may be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference.”
CHAPTER 4 CHRIST'S DEATH/RESURRECTION
1 Corinthians 15: 1 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
Eyewitness testimony is very strong in the court of law and if you can get a reliable person to tell you what they saw, it is a open and shut case, is this not the same in the case of what Christ claimed?
1 Corinthians 15 can be dated to around 2 to 8 years after Christ had went back to heaven, is that not evidence very close to the actual happening of what Christianity has taught all along?
You know what else is pretty neat? The one who is writing in 1 Corinthians is named Paul. Paul was a very devote Jew, he hated Christianity, he was like many today that did all in his power to get rid of Christianity and show that it was just a farce, he went even one step further and killed people that professed to be Christians.
But Paul one day in the weight of the evidence, his own experience and all the eye witness testimony, he could no longer fight against the obvious truth that he figured out on his own.
Paul trusted the Christ that he tried so hard to get rid of.
Even in Galations 1: 18 we can read:
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
This was not just a casual “how do you do” visit, no Paul went up to not just “see” Peter but to inquire about him, investigate him, concerning what? Why would Peter be investigated? What was Peter? He was an eye witness, he too had personally saw Christ, knew all about him, what better source is there?
Are you going to be like Paul? Investigate this yourself?
Christ died, and rose from the dead, why? To save you from the awful place called hell.
CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSION
Consider this next thing very closely.
There are no mistakes in the Bible, everything ever spoken about has come to pass. All the prophecies of the prophets of the Old Testament are coming to pass as they are supposed to, no mistakes,
Are you willing to take that and think “well there’s mistakes now” carefully read this:
2 Peter 3: 3 ¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Verses 3-4 are of people who simply can’t believe this, are you like that? Or have you forgotten “hey this is real!”
Verse 5 Peter tells us that people are ignorant, (not willing to listen). Then he again mentions creations
Verse 6 he mentions the great flood. Something else that happened
Verse 7 now it’s reserved for judgment? For fire?
Hey now stop a minute, the Bible has never been wrong! So what’s this about judgment?
We’re all going to die right? Know what Hebrews 9:27 says? After death there is a judgment!
Are you willing to take a book that has had so many attacks against it yet never proven wrong lightly? Are you willing to stop and think.
“Hey everything is right! No mistakes? That means there’s a hell, there’s a heaven!, there’s my sins, there’s judgment but yes J Christ died for me!”
