The Sinner's Prayer
|

I am sorry but this option is not available due to the study of scripture I found no scriptural backing for the sinner's prayer. All I could find was where God the Holy Spirit is the only one who can convict sinners of their need. By adding a sinner's prayer we are not putting our trust in God that He is able to do His own work, and it may lead to false professions where people believe quoting a prayer will get them to heaven. For Godly sorrow
worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of
the world worketh death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (This is telling us it takes the working of God to deal with souls. A Godly sorrow. This does not mean sorrow like God's for He has no sorrow but admiting your fault before God the punishment you deserve and the punishment you're getting if you do not get saved.) |
