A lot of people try to say that there is only one person in the Godhead
and that the teaching of the trinity is a false doctrine. The people that
claim this actually derive from cults and new religions.
I would like to take
the time to say there are three beings in the Godhead. There is three
being and one God. God is a title given to the Father, Son and Holy
Ghost. There are times that the word God is used to just explain the
Father singular but it is very plain through scripture that there are
three persons.
There is such a wealth of knowledge to show the trinity it is hard to
know where to start. It is very evident that Jesus was God. The
fulfillment of prophecy explains that in itself. Perhaps that is where I
will start. I will start by showing how Jesus is God.

and there is only one person they fit - The Lord Jesus Christ. There is
only one chance in a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion,
trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion,
trillion, that someone could fit the fingerprint of the Messiah. Jesus
did this,
He had all the characteristics of God:
CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD
Omniscience: Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, John 16:30
John 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is
not this the Christ?
1 John 3:20 God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Omnipresence: Matthew 28:20 lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end
of the world. Amen.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.
Omnipotence: Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Eternality: John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with
God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing
made that was made. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.
The above verses say that the Word was made flesh. Is this speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Continue to read the
chapter and you will realize it is speaking of the Lord : Philippians 2:6
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God
Immutability: Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day,
and for ever
TRINITY
Concerning the trinity, is there actually three separate persons? Let us
look and see if scripture
backs up this statement and if it does our next step will be to
see why
when God reveals himself it seems that only one of the three persons is seen.
Trinity In The Resurrection
Many will say that the Father raised Jesus from the grave is
this entirely correct? There is a verse they use for this statement too.
1Co 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us
by his own power.
So is this speaking of God the Father? Is this verse claiming that the
God the Father is raising Jesus Christ alone and Christ is lesser then
God the Father? Many people will say yes, which causes our attention to
be drawn to the two verses below:
The Son =
Joh 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up.
The Spirit =
1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the
unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh,
but quickened by the Spirit:
Eternality of The Trinity
Father =
Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the
prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made
known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Son =
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and
the last.
Spirit =
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the
eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Omnipresence Of The Trinity
Father =
Jer 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see
him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
Son =
Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Spirit =
Psa 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee
from thy presence?
Omnipotence Of The Trinity
Father =
Gen 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared
to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and
be thou perfect.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the
Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rom 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit
of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have
fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Omniscience Of The Trinity
Father =
Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the
world.
Son =
Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest
thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time,
Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things;
thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Spirit =
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Trinity Revealed in Creation
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl
of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and
that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him,
and for him:
Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty
hath given me life.
Source of Eternal Life Seen In The Trinity
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never
perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap
life everlasting.
Evidence Of The Trinity:
1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood
of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the
Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus
is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
The Trinity Seen In The Work Of Salvation:
2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren
beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward
man appeared,
1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood
of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
The Trinity Seen In Baptism:
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
WHAT IS GOD?
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth.
We know that God is a Spirit but the Son of God, one of the persons of the
Godhead took on the form of a human so that He could offer Himself a
sacrifice for our sins. As the
verse already mentioned in John 1:14 (And the Word was made flesh, and
dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.) And verse one as
well tells us
the Word was God and that it was Jesus that became flesh. But the other
verses given us show us that the Father and Holy Spirit are also God.
It is like a marriage. There are two couples but when they join in holy
matrimony they become as one. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are as one
yet separate. They are like the three original colours that make up
every other colour. A man by the name of Nathan Wood studied for 25
years and wrote a book called "The Secret of the Universe" and could say
how the three
colours are red, yellow and blue and all colours derive from these three.
All the colours of the sunset are blended from these three colours
We know that light is colourless and cannot be seen but when put through
a prism it is split up into many different colours. God is like light
too
1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no
man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be
honour and power everlasting. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
So if we can not see God according to these verses how can we know him? Let
us explain each colour and how it relates to God.
Red: it is invisible; it is the heat ray, the source of life. Without
heat we would perish.
Yellow: it is the light ray, without light we would be in complete
darkness. Not only are the light rays visible but they also make
everything visible
Blue: they are chemical rays or actinic rays. They are invisible and are
known by the effects they produce.
So can you see a similarity with these there colours and the Trinity? The red and blue are
invisible like the Father and Holy Ghost while the yellow is visible
which is like the Lord that came in flesh and blood. And what could the
Lord say? John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the
light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
The yellow colour shows everything in its true colours just like the
Lord: John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that
cometh into the world.
Quoted directly from the book Why I believe the Bible by A. J. Pollock
The red rays are invisible, yet their influence is life giving and life
sustaining. The Father is invisible. The Son has revealed Him. He is the
Source of life and blessing. Everything flows from Him.
The blue rays are invisible and are only seen in the effects they
produce. The Holy Spirit of God is invisible but we know His presence by
His effect in the lives of men.
The Father, Son, and the Spirit are equally God. The order in which the
names are put in Matthew 28:19 does not indicate any difference in
status, but is casual: the Father sent the Son; the Holy Spirit proceeds
from the Father and Son.
